DJ Jeffreys
DJ Jeffreys grew up in the very north of Northumberland in a childhood steeped in farming and National Hunt stock. It is this upbringing that DJ credits as the catalyst for the excellent care and understanding he puts into the training of his horses. Although DJ understands how important routine is to training racehorses, he believes it is more important to realise every horse is different and has their own personalities and strengths and weaknesses.
Through learning these traits it allows him to alter routines and give all horses that individual attention. Set in the glorious Worcestershire countryside, only three miles from Broadway and nine miles from Cheltenham, DJ’s new base is in the heartland of NH racing. The farm and surrounding woodland where he trains allows him to try and ultimately deliver something different for your horses.
After graduating from the Royal Agricultural College, DJ has worked with and for some excellent trainers, all of whom have contributed enormously to DJ’s training experience. Initially as pupil assistant to Rose and Tony Dobbin; he followed this with a short stint in Australia, before taking up the role as assistant to Charlie Mann. After a number of informative years with Mann, DJ swapped one Charlie for another with a move to Charlie Longsdon. Together Charlie and DJ had a number of highly successful years before DJ decided it was time to set out on his own.
With an ever-improving and developing facility, and a knowledgable and hard-working core of staff, now is the time to join this exciting project. 2021 was a good year but 2022 promises to be even better!

“I was excited to see DJ decided to take out a licence as he was never short of an opinion and is very committed.”
